The 2012 series of Viotopos Publishing, "Polar Zone", invites you through the colourful pages to travel along the majestic icebergs of the Arctics, in the polar, unknown and hostile nights, where life resists the frost and long dark winters.36 different species are presented; mammals and birds, huge and timy animals, polar bears, penguins, wolves of the isolated cold tundras, whales, seaguls, and many more. Species threatened with extinction due to climate change and human intervention, struggling to survive along with their youngs on frozen isles, by the gates of the harsh Polar continent in the thresholds of the Poles and the distant world. The colourfull illustrations, from watercolours by Thaleia Zeibeki, that dress up every page, are accompanied by text containing information on the life and habits of the depicted organisations. The diary, is hard coverbounted, sizes 18 x 25 cm and is printed on inaset The inner layout is set on weekly basis and the name-days and other Orthodox celebrations are included as well as astronomical phenomena (moon phase, time of sunrise and sunset, eclipses, and planet positions) by the national astrological centre of Athens. Unfortunately most text comes only in Greek. |
